CERT-RMM Compass

CERT-RMM Compass is a lightweight assessment instrument based on the CERT Resilience Management Model that can provide organizations with a quick "health check." By identifying areas of concern, Compass can help to prioritize and set direction for improvement efforts or for more formal appraisals. Compass transforms the content of CERT-RMM into questions that provide insight into practices performed, incomplete practices, and institutionalizing factors that support the retention of practices under stressful conditions, such as governance, training, policy, and measurement. The Compass assessment can be scoped to include a single CERT-RMM process area or any combination of multiple process areas. The questions are scored based on organizational responses, and scores are interpreted in several dimensions. CERT-RMM Compass is completed with the guidance of a trained CERT-RMM Navigator.

CERT-RMM Navigator

The CERT-RMM Navigator is an assessment certification role that prepares individuals to administer and score the CERT-RMM Compass. The Navigator facilitates the collection of information and self-assessment using the Compass instrument and participates in the scoring activity. The Navigator then facilitates a discussion of the Compass results and catalyzes the improvement planning activity. Personnel in your organization can become certified Navigators, which gives you flexibility in extending improvement efforts. For more information on the CERT-RMM Compass or CERT-RMM Navigator, email customer-relations@sei.cmu.edu or call +1 412-268-5800.
