Registry Databases by Domain Name

This document contains pointers to domain name registry databases that can be used to locate point of contact information for Internet sites.

Please refer to the CERT/CC Tech Tip "Finding Site Contacts" for information on how to use this resource to locate site point of contact information.

The top-level domain name information used to create this resource comes from the Internet Assigned Number Authority (IANA) and their list of top-level domain names.

Registry database information is included in this document only if the resource can be used to obtain point of contact information.

The following types of information are provided:

• Top-level domain - Information is sorted alphabetically by top-level domain.
• Description - A brief description of the domain
• NIC handle - The NIC handle can be used in a query to the Whois server at whois.internic.net to locate point of contact information for the top-level domain
• WHOIS server - Host name of Whois server for top-level domain
• RWHOIS server - Host name of RWhois server for top-level domain
• Web-based query - URL of web-based Whois query form
• E-mail query - Email address for point of contact queries
• Last updated - The date of last update by CERT/CC

We encourage sites to use this information to improve tools and processes used to contact sites during computer security incidents.
