January 11-14, 2010

Royal Sonesta Hotel
New Orleans, Louisiana

FloCon is an open workshop that provides a forum for operational analysts, tool developers and other parties interested in the analysis of large volumes of traffic to showcase the next generation of flow-based analysis techniques. Flow is an abstraction of network traffic in which packets are grouped together by common attributes over time.

This year's conference will focus on flow data analysis within the context of other data sources. Presenters are encouraged to consider how flow is a piece of the puzzle—one data source among several which, together, help you derive a holistic network view.

Understanding today's complex networks requires examining pieces of data from many sources. At Flocon 2010, learn how netflow data helps put the puzzle together. We will discuss the following topics:

  • Data Set Sharing and Integrated Analysis
  • Network Situational Awareness
  • IPv6 Transition and Analysis
  • Malicious Behavior
  • Mathematical Analysis
  • Flow Collection Technology
  • Network Data Visualization
  • Network Inventory
  • Network Operations
  • Education
  • Large-Scale Modeling and Analysis

Registration

Registration is now open.

  • Early registration (on or before December 1, 2009): $625
  • Standard registration (after December 1, 2009): $700

Student Scholarships: A limited number of conference fee discounts are available to students who present or demonstrate relevant flow-related research. Contact flocontact@cert.org for more information.

Venue and Hotel Reservation

The conference will be held at the Royal Sonesta Hotel. When making your online reservation, use the Group Internet Code FL2010 to receive the group discounted rate of $129 a night.

Looking for presenters

You may choose from a standard presentation or a demonstration session. The demonstration session, a new interactive presentation format, was introduced at FloCon 2009. At that session, four university research teams gave live informal demonstrations of their latest software projects. The session was so well received that we have formally incorporated the demonstration session for 2010.

Important dates:

  • Monday, November 9, 2009 - Abstract submissions for presentations and demonstrations due (Note that the deadline has been extended.)
  • Wednesday, November 18, 2009 - Acceptance notification sent to authors
  • Friday, December 11, 2009 - Final presentations due

See the Call for Presentations and Demonstrations for additional details, including how to submit your abstract.
